Windows 7

Behold Windows 7. See any difference? I think mostly at first glance you’ll notice just the difference in the taskbar, everything else feels pretty much like vista, except they don’t act as crappy as vista. also you’ll notive the experience index score as been increased to 7.9. rather dissapointing cause I finally set the hard drives to RAID 0 to get 5.9 for the hard disk performance, and now that I got 5.9, I’m still 2.0 from the top, the other hardwares are stuck at 7.2, I find it quite odd how everything is exactly at 7.2, quite a big coincidence.

No driver/software compatibility issues so far yet, most of the vista drivers work just fine on 7. certain softwares that had compatibility issues, the manufacturer’s website has released a windows 7 compatible driver already too. Razer users might wanna double check tho, from what I understand razer drivers aren’t compatible, yet.

Costs needed to be a crime fighting vigilante

Been spending (TOO much) time looking up stuff it would take to become a super vigilante. Came across a website that sold bullet proof armour, and then just couldn’t help but look see what other stuff could you get these days. Cze Yang said we should just forgo 1 sem’s tuition fees to get all the gear and dissapear, lol. Sucks that tasers and body armour are illegal in australia.

General protection:

Slash proof  Gloves – 90USD (covers fingerprints and protects hands)

Heavy Duty Protection : Trojan S Series Armour  – 55,000 USD (will take anything up to AK-47 bullets at close range, handles IEDs as well)

Low Profile Protection : Bullet/Stab proof casual Jacket – 1300USD (will take anything up to AK-47 bullets at close range, altho pressure injury will still be an issue)

Gadgets:

Night vision – 300-3000USD (see in the dark)

Fibre optics scope – 750USD (look behind doors and other objects)

Lockpick – 40USD

Thermite – Home made aluminium + iron(III) oxide with magnesium fuse (burns at high temperatures in case u wanna break something)

Smoke Grenade – Homemade formula KNO3 + sugar (escape?)

Adrenaline -  not sure if u can jsut buy these stuff (keeps u going)

Glass cutter – 10USD (cuts glass)

Weapons (non-lethal):

Taser – 250USD possible to home make

Pepper spray – 25USD per piece

if you can think of anything else I’d like to hear it, make sure its compact cause otherwise its not practical, shouldn’t really be making a lot of kinky noises either. I’m thinking of adding a listening device but I can’t find anthing small enough.

Folding@home

foldinghome

What you’re seeing is a programme called Folding@home. the programme uses your computer’s graphic card’s processors to analyse protein folds of various proteins. So what happends is when you run the programme your computer receives a certain protein and starts to analyse it, when its done analyzing it send its work back to Stanford University where it’ll be used for cancer research and various other diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s. For more information google “Folding@home”

Its quite a good thing a feel. It doesn’t really eat up a lot of bandwidth. And since we don’t normally fully utilise our graphics cards anyways (unless you play super high end games 24/7, and not even i do that), why not use it for a good cause right? There’s also a ranking system in all this, sorta adds a little competition to encourage people to do more folding. you have personal ranks and team ranks. My team, number 2999, is Folding@Malaysia, we’re currently ranked number 56 of 157320 teams, I rank 327 of 1000 members in the team and 204419 of 1225164 of all the participants in the world, but I’m still rising pretty fast thanks to my dear graphics card. One drawback I probabaly should mention is that this means ur graphics card would probabaly be working pretty hard while its folding nonstop, means means it’ll probabaly take up more electricity than it normally would, so those of you who pay your own electric bill might wanna think twice? but yea I feel its a pretty small price to pay to play a role in helping out in medical research. Another thing you should take note is that since your graphics card is operating on heavy load, expect some extra heat being produced and possibly fan noise, especially if you’re folding on a laptop, as you can see even my card is now at ~78 degrees. Note to Sien, probabaly not such a good idea for you to do this given your history of burnt motherboards.

EDIT: okay apparently you can’t see my card temperature from here, but yea the temp is about 78 degrees celcius right now, with fan speed at about 52% at the moment.

Folding@home is compatible with all Nvidia 8XXX/9XXX and GTX2XX series and ATi 2XXX/3XXX/4XXX series cards,it also works with a PS3!!

Just a thought

I don’t normally ask that you read all the way through my articles, but I hope for this one u at least make it to the third paragraph, jsut a little article we discussed about.

Excerpt from One World by Peter Singer, in the Chapter “One Community”

Bob is close to retirement . He has invested most of his savings in a very rare and valuable old car, a Bugatti, which he has not been able to insure. The Bugatti is his pride and joy. In addition to the pleasure he gets from driving and caring for his car, Bob knows that its rising market value means that he will always be able to sell it and live comfortably after retirement. One day when Bob is out for a drive, he parks the Bugatti near the end of a disused railway siding and goes for a walk up the track. As he does so, he sees that a runaway train, with no one aboard, is running down the railway track. Looking further down the track he sees the small figure of a child playing in a tunnel and very likely to be killed by the runaway train. He can’t stop the train and the child is too far away to warn of the danger, but he can throw a switch that will divert the train down the siding where his Bugatti is parked . Then nobody will be killed-but since the barrier at the end of the siding is in disrepair, the train will destroy his Bugatti. Thinking of his joy in owning the car, and the financial security it represents, Bob decides not to throw the switch. The child is killed . But for many years to come Bob enjoys owning his Bugatti and the financial security it represents .
Bob’s conduct, most of us will immediately respond, was gravely wrong. But then, we too have opportunities to save the lives of children. We can give to organizations like UNICEF and Oxfam Australia. How much would we have to give one of these organisations to have a high probability of saving the life of a child threatened by easily preventable diseases? In its fundraising material, the US Committee for UNICEF says that a donation of US$17 will provide immunisation `to protect a child for life against the six leading child-killing and maiming diseases : measles, polio, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, and tuberculosis’, while a donation of US$25 will provide `over 400 packets of oral rehydration salts to help save the lives of children suffering from diarrheal dehydration’ . But these figures do not tell us how many lives are saved by the immunisation or rehydration salts, and they do not include the cost of raising the money, administrative expenses, and delivering aid where it is most needed. Unger (an expert) called some experts to get a rough estimate of these costs and the number of lives likely to be saved and came up with a figure of around US$200 per child’s life saved. Assuming that this estimate is not too far astray, if you still think that it was very wrong of Bob not to throw the switch that would have diverted the train and saved the child’s life, then it is hard to see how you could deny that it is also very wrong not to send at least US$200 to one of the organisations listed above.Unless, that is, there is some morally important difference between the two situations. What might that be? Is it the practical uncertainties about whether aid will really reach the people who need it? Nobody who knows the world of overseas aid can doubt that such uncertainties exist. But Unger’s figure of US$200 to save a child’s life was reached after he had made conservative assumptions about the proportion of the money donated that will actually reach its target . One genuine difference between Bob and those who can donate to overseas aid organisations but don’t is that only Bob can save the child in the tunnel, whereas there are hundreds of millions of people who can give US$200 to overseas aid organisations.
The problem is that most of them aren’t doing it.Does this mean that it is all right not to do it?There will always be another child whose life you could save for another US$200 .Are we therefore obliged to keep giving until we have nothing left?At what point can we stop? Consider Bob. How far past losing the Bugatti should he go?Imagine that Bob had got his foot stuck in the track of the siding, and if he diverted the train, then it would amputate his big toe before going on to ram his car. Should he still throw the switch? What if it would amputate his foot? His entire leg?Or is this situation different ? If so, how?Only when the sacrifices become very significant indeed would most people be prepared to say that Bob does nothing wrong when he decides not to throw the switch. Of course, most people could be wrong; But consider for yourself the level of sacrifice that you would demand of Bob, and then think about how much money you would have to give away in order to make a sacrifice that is roughly equal to that. It’s almost certainly much, much more than US$200. For most people who are comfortably off, it could easily be more like $200,000. When Bob first grasped the dilemma that faced him as he stood by that railway switch, he must have thought how extraordinarily unlucky he was, to be placed in a situation in which he must choose between the life of an innocent child and the sacrifice of most of his savings. But he was not unlucky at all. We are all in that situation.…

We should feel a greater sense of urgency to eliminate poverty. A useful symbolic figure would be 1 per cent, and this might. indeed be closer to what it would take to eliminate, rather than halve, global poverty.
We could therefore propose, as a public policy likely to produce good consequences, that anyone who has enough money to spend on the luxuries and frivolities so common in affluent societies should give at least 1 cent in every dollar of their income to those who have trouble getting enough to eat, clean water to drink, shelter from the elements, and basic health care. Those who do not meet this standard should be seen as failing to meet their fair share of a global responsibility, and therefore as doing something that is seriously morally wrong. This is the minimum, not the optimal, donation. Those who think carefully about their ethical obligations will realise that-since not everyone will be giving even 1 per cent-they should do far more. But if for the purposes of changing our society’s standards in a manner that has a realistic chance of success, we focus on the idea of a bare minimum that we can expect everyone to do, there is something to be said for seeing a 1 per cent donation of annual income to overcome world poverty as the minimum that one must do to lead a morally decent life. To give that amount requires no moral heroics . To fail to give it shows indifference to the indefinite continuation of dire poverty and avoidable, poverty-related deaths.

My Own Little Conspiracy Theory

What classify a living thing? do they need to jsut fulfill a list of criterias and that’s all? In general, we’d say that living things are things that require air to breath, some sort of food to eat, and water to drink? and maybe the need to reproduce? seriously the meaning of a living thing is pretty vague isn’t it? air to breath, what’ll u say to the bacteria that hardly take air? water to drink, koalas only eat leaves? but yeah I suppose hardly taking air is still taking in some air, and eating leaves which contain water is still taking in water. How about need to reproduce? Ligers (Lion +Tiger) and Mules (Horse + Donkey, I think they’re called Mules, can’t remember) have no ability to reproduce. and yea you’re right, they were created through human intervention, but then can you look at a Liger, see it eat, drink and breath like any other animal and say its not a living thing? Perhaps there’s more that the criteria’s I;ve mentioend that make a living thing, probabaly, so please add to my list or take away some stuff from my list by posting a comment. But before you do, I wanna just add this little scenario in:

if we just use the 4 criteria’s that I’ve given, think of it another way, instead of considering if a Liger is a living thing or not, let’s try and imagine the other way round. with human technology advancing over time, we’re getting pretty good in making robots, so…..if 1 day we could make a robot that runs on air, water and some sort of food, and that robot is even capable of creating its own kind, would the robots then be enough to be considered living things? Please share I dun mind the comments as long as u don’t give me crap like “if God didn’t make them, its not a living thing”. I’m asking all of this because I wanna just bring up the discussion about how viruses are not considered as living things because they have no other objective other than to pass on their DNA/RNA, and yet they don’t seem to be “non living things” worthy either

Okay now I’m getting to the real conspiracy theory part. Technology is awesome, we’re mkaing things smaller and smaller these days. Back in the days computers were so big that they’d fill up a whole room jsut to do simple mathematics, and now that same computing power could probabaly be found everywhere, and its pretty space efficient too!!So far, Biologists are always trying to find ways to using biological means to cure biological problems. prevent diseases with vaccines, antibiotics and the like. the Physicists on the other hand are solving their problems with physics too, finding out about subatomic particles by building particle accelerometers and stuff like that. Only recently we’re seeing these 2 fields begin to work together. 1 interesting topic I found was how the mechanics of a printer were used to “print” out an artificial heart. Sounds pretty sci-fi? well its still under research so it’s gonna stay sci-fi for now. Here’s another interesting sci-fi technology that involves biology and physics, if you’ve played the Metal gear solid games you’d probabaly be a little familiar with this. Yea, i’m talking about nanobots. Essentially in the game each soldier is injected with a serum containing tiny nano-sized robots. these robots essentially feedback information about the soldier back to a central computer where commanding officers cand monitor a soldier’s performance. So let’s give an example, a group of soldiers just got ambushed by a large group of terrorists, they need to escape. the big guys at central command could then command the nanobots to stimulate every soldier’s adrenal glands to secrete sufficient amount of adrenaline, increasing the soldier’s heart rate as well as make them less sensitive to pain, allowing them to focus on running away. Also applicable in the opposite situation, first time soldiers going into the heat of war for the first time might feel extremely scared walking into the hot zone, in this situation the nanobots could also supress adrenaline release and calm the soldier, improving performance. In the game the nanobots are so efficient that they can prevent the individual from pulling a trigger, preventing friendly fire and the like.

Okay now u get more or less how sci-fi we are talking about, we’ll move further on. So, instead of using nanobots for stuff like war and improving human efficiency, what about using nanobots for medical reasons? Now note that even red blood cells are measure up to micrometers only, so nanobots are pretty small. So the idea is that one day we might be able to cure all disease using nanobots. Got a viral infection? nanobots are there to kill’em, Got bacterial infection? fungal infection? parasite infection? nanobots will kill em like ur white blood cells never have. speaking of which, they may very well be the solution to people with suppressed immune systems. Even DNA reencoding could be possible( DNA size is couple of nanometers), that means bye bye to hereditary diseases and genetic defects.

Pretty bright future for human health isn’t it?Now, obviously with such a powerful medical device, a lot of precaution and ethical laws would be in place by the time this technology is released, by then there’d probabaly be no need for medical research or doctors or hospitals anymore, meaning more manpower in the fields of physics and chemistry( some people will probably still wanna study animals or whatever but screw them). Now suppose that at some point in the future, the human population have just made a big break in time travel, they’ve managed to send tiny grains of sand(the finests grains of sand measure at about 0.05 mm) back in time. See where I’m going with this? no? Okay now let’s say a Scientist C happends to fill a tiny capsule the size almost as big as a grain of sand with nanobots reprogrammed with the following directives:

1. create more nanobots
2. eliminate any dangers
3. survive by all means necessary

and this capsule was sent back in time attached onto say, a fruit( I like watermelon). So a human in the past comes along, sees a big giant fruit (I like watermelon), and eats the fruit together with the nanobot caontained capsule. The tiny capsule goes in the stomach , to the intestines ad gets absorbed in the bloodstream. In the bloodstream the capsule would then be dissolved by a chemical found only in the blood, thereby releasing and activating the nanobots. The nanobots are detected by the human’s white blood cells, but directive 2 orders them to eliminate the white blood cell, the nanobots use the remains of the white blood cell to create more nanobots, fulfilling directive 1. as the nanobots multiply, the human body’s white blood cells attempts to adapt and fight back, but again with directive 3 the nanobots evolve ahead of the white blood cells and continues to survive.

Now u’ve heard the story, so this man, would continue to have his immune system destroyed, caushing him to be Immune Deficient. and since this immune deficiency was not from some immunosuppresive drugs, would be say that this man has an [A]cquired [I]mmune [D]eficiency [S]yndrome? and would that make the nanobot a Human Immunodeficiency Nanobot? of course this is all happening back in the past(time traveled back in time remember?) so people at that time would not know what a nano bot is, so let’s just say they gave the nanobots a fancier name, let’s say they decided to called it……I dunno……..maybe…….a virus? so probabaly people back then would call the Human Immunodeficiency Nanobot a [H]uman [I]mmunodeficiency [V]irus?

Posted this specially for you Hean, still rememeber how you used to tell me to write about my conspiracy theories……….lol

Of Games and Series…..

Alright now to continue with the post, here’s the part on Games:

Bioshock – Old game I know, but I finally had some time to check this game out, and I have to say gameplay pretty much sucked, storyline was cool witha ll the 60s feel to it and all, but the fact of you getting more powerful much faster than the enemies means that by the end of the game, you won’t even feel scared anymore cause any enemy that so much as touches you gets a big jolt of electricity and dies with a whack of ye ol trusty wrench.

Gears of War – relatively old game as well,  storyline is so so, but gameplay was awesome, for ocne there’s a game where taking REAL cover actually mattered. And the endless scenes of body parts flying about and blood splattering everywhere helps too.

Dead Space – this game brings a whole new level of scariness to survival horror game. have to say I’ve been pretty scared almost throughout the whole game, even when I had the biggest guns and had my volume set to the minimal audible level I stil get frightened everytime something pops up behind me.

Tom Clancy’s Endwars -  You guys have totally gotta try this one out. This is totally gonna revolutionise how games are played next time. I’ve jsut started playing this for like couple of days but I have to say its really really cool. Just imagine playing a game where all you have to do is holddown the spacebar and execute commands like “Unit 2 attack hostile 1″ , “Unit 5 secure alpha”  and “Airstrike Target”, gives you that very commanding officer feeling

Prince of Persia – pretty decent game, the obstacle courses aren’t as complicated as the previous ones are and dying isn’t as annying as it was anymore either, fight scenes look alot better altho feels more restrictive that the previous titles.

Mirror’s Edge -  another new way of playing a first person game, for once all you do is run around city rooftops to get from point A to point B. Occasionally you see some cops, as the non-violent character that you are, you could jsut pull a few kung fu moves and disarm the dude and be on your way. One of the first games to utilise Nvidia’s PhysX technology, looks great with PhysX on btw.

Left 4 Dead – All I can say for this is, Best co-op game ever!!!!

Pokemon Crystal/Sapphire – yeah I know its way way way old, but you know I used to love playing pokemon, and I neevr got around completing the gold/silver series, cause it got all too complicated back then when I was 13 or something and I jsut gave up, so now I’ve come back to live my dreams as a Pokemon trainer once more. Haha, unfortunately Pokemon game has upgraded so much that there’s like 500 pokemon nowadays and I only knew like 200 pokemon at most, so there’s a lot to learn. Have to figure out weakness and resistants for the new elements like metal and dark and all those new attack moves. Fortunately I’m playing it on PC, which means……Gameshark!! nothing beats unlimited masterballs and rare candys, yea!!! (OMG I’m a cheater too lol)

Now on to the series, actually I don’t have that much to report on this section really, cause when ur in Malaysia and internet is crap, you can never get much done that way. But I jsut felt like mentioning that……

Grey’s Anatomy had a merging episode with Private Practice. Cool? haha! essentially what that means is if you wanna get exactly what happened after episode 15 of grey’s you gotta watch episode 16 of  private practice and after that switch back to episode 16 of grey’s, awesome right?

Also jsut wanted to say I’m probabaly adding the Veronica Mars series to my list, jsut felt like seeing more of Kristen Bell, at least this series is only 3 seasons long and already discontinued, wonder how long it’ll be before I realise kristen bell isn’t worth all that trouble? haha

well since were on the topic of this sorta stuff I tot I might as well mention a little on what I’m looking forward to as well

Upcoming Games

Sims 3 – coming out in June, I’m hoping to see major improvements since sims 1 since I’ve not played or even seen sims 2. From what I’m hearing its gonna be pretty cool. But then sims 1 sounded cool too but ended up with a pretty routine gameplay (unless you’re a cheater, yeah u know who you are, lol)

Tom Clancy’s HAWX – I really really really hope this fighter plane game doesn’t suck cuz I haven’t found a decent fighter place game since the Ace Combat series

Red Alert 3 Uprising – Hopefully this expansion will somewhat make the original game a lot more interesting .I love the red alert franchise, but seriously, its dissapointing on so many levels.

Upcoming Movies

Street Fighter : Legend of Chun Li – Okay I’m jsut watching this cuz there’s Kristin Kreuk(totally a sucker for Kristin’s), but then who knows right? might turn out to be a pretty decent movie too

Terminator: Salvation – gotta love this upcoming episode lah, its basically telling about how all that time travelling in terminator 1/2/3 have impacted on the future, and just that time paradox thing is enough to make me go all in

X Men Origins : Wolverine – Its X men!! just can’t not watch it. and its on wolverine!! the producers were smart to choose Mageneto and Wolverine to be in the X Men Origins movies, great choices.

Okay I myself am starting to feel that this post is quite boring too so I’ll jsut end it here then, I think I’m just gonna add another pretty irrelevant post pretty soon, feel free to ignore that one

Back again

Yea I know what you’re thinking, probably something along the lines of “finally he updates” or “oh he’s still posting?” and stuff like that. And yea you’re right its been way way way way too long. I dunno how long this post might be so you’re gonna have to bear with me.

So its probabaly been like 4 months or so since the last post, you’d think I’ve have a lot to say but then actually I don’t think its actually all that much, but we’ll see.

Failed the final exam of the year, AGAIN. something about the stuff we learn during the end of the year that jsut makes me prone to failing it seems. Or maybe its the new computer that I got right before that semester started? or maybe jsut too distracted by the fact that I’m going home? Yea you probabaly think its the computer games eh? I suppose you have a point there. guess everything else is just an excuse compared to that. So yea haven’t been posting at all cuz there’s really not much to say. I’ve pretty much worked through my longest holiday studying for the supplementary exams, AGAIN. before results were released most of my friends were still back in aussie, me on the other hand was probabaly 1 of the few that made it back to Penang super early. So the 2 weeks pre-results release were pretty much spent on E! News on the Tele and maybe a little HBO. Yea I know I really know how to screw up my holidays.

Holidays weren’t completely without fun I’d say. Still managed to go hang out a couple of times with some friends. Checked out the Pub called Babylon up in Upper Penang Road, totally digging the atmosphere. I realised I totally hate Clubs and clubbing. I practically hate everything about it. Loud music , limited variety drinks, freakin stupid cups, and me hates the most…….a lot a lot a lot of people.( I didn’t wanna include smoking since not all clubs are like that) yeah so I probably looks like the type of person who doesn’t know how to have fun, and maybe I don’t. But I think I’m pretty sure I know what I don’t like, and I’m pretty sure we all know what we don’t like, cause when you don’t like something, there’s this annoying feeling inside you that builds up the longer you’re exposed to it, and it just makes you wanna go out the back door, pick up a broken TV and smash it to the floor.Haha, anyways, we all have our own ways of having fun, mine jsut doesn’t happen to be clubbing, and i’m happy I realise that now, cause it means I wun have to always torture myself going to club with friends. Thanks to Phooi Sin for showing me Babylon, totally loved that place.

Celebrated a couple of birthdays. Celebrated Yi Mei’s birthday first, the girl was about to leave for Melbroune and decided to hold a Purple themed party, of all the colors had to pick the one my wardrobe tak ada, no choice lah just wearing anything lah (red in my case). How I know apparently they had some arrangement saying that if u dun have purple just wear white, so the result? only red guy in the party……Party was great tho, have catered buffet and got to meet dozens of friends too. Sew Xian’s birthday was pretty much spent mostly in Red Box. Was a great experience as well, for once I went to karaoke with a bunch of people who sang more english songs than they do chinese. Not that I hate chinese songs or anything, but I dunno, english songs in the end still sounds so much better. Sew Xian sang his favourite Spice Girls song (Wanna Be), totally nailed the Chorus, LOL. He also picked a couple of Malay song by P. Ramlee, haha, the melody was kinda childish, but probabaly could become quite catchy if u listened to it couple of times (thank goodness we didn’t), at some point Sew Xian couldn’t keep up with the lyrics or something as what started out as P.Ramlee’s song, transformed into an Islamic prayer chanting session.haha. Celebrated Phooi SIn’s birthday at McDonalds. Yea, McDonalds, was supposed to be a surprise for her, but somehow surprises are really hard to keep a secret when ur planning it 5 hours before midnight the day before the birthday. Despite that, birthday party was quite a smash nonetheless, booked the kiddy section made specially for CHILDREN’s birthday’s. it was about 2 or 3pm at that time and many of the schools nearby had jsut finished class, so McD was basically swarmed with teenagers and there we were, 10 people in their 20s wearing party hats( mine barely fit :( )and blowing on the noise makers( which felicia calls “the things that can extend and retract”). aside from that party progressed pretty normally, we ate, we sang birthday song, we pushed Phooi SIn’s head into the cake, took pictures. by about 5, the crowd in McD got a lot less, and we all moved to the playpen for a bunch of photography, btw pictures are all on facebook if ur curious, its only limited to my network of friends only as they can get rather humiliating…..probabaly…..be sure to check out the video as well if u can.

Those were pretty much the highlights of the holidays for me, I went back to Sydney on the 6th of Feb, took my supp exam on the 12th, came back to Penang again on the 13th. You’d think I’d be totally stress free by now right?  altho its true I was able to go hang out more after that, but then I had another Major practical exam waiting for me on the 6th of March. what’s worse is that exams is probabaly at least 5 times harder than what I was facing in the supp exams. I only had from the 14th of Feb till the 5th of march to prepare for this exams, as opposed to the 3 months I had to prepare for the supp. Anyways that exam is over too now, as for how I did? well I’ve passed the supp exams already so that’s over, results of the prac exam will be out in 2 weeks, so pray for me ya? Pray REALLY REALLY hard, please?

I thought I might also just mention a little on some Games/series/movies that I’ve been checking out recently

Movies:

007 – watched it on aeroplace back to sydney, screen was small and the sound wasn’t really that clear so I had no idea what was going on. Overall it didn’t seem that appealing to me, not sure if the sounds and bigger screen would have helped at all, even the bond girl didn’t look very attractive.Liked in the ending how he handed that guy a bottle of petroleum and then left him in the desert tho, talk about cruel, haha.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons – E! News on tv seemed to have overhyped on this one, said all this stuff about how it was gonna be one of the collset movies of the year and stuff. And the story does sounds really interesting, I mean, its a man ageing backwards!! But the movie really dissapointed, was really hard to stay awake through the whole movie, at many points the only entertaining part that came along was when that guy started mumbling about how he was struck by lightning, and he’s only mentioned 6 out of the supposed 7 incidents. My guess is there was actually another whole 30 minute of the show where the guy does mention the 7th occasion. But then the producers realise what a load of crap they were making and decided that they better cut it down, still not enough tho.

Twilight – A lot of people said this movie was pretty mediocre and it was overhyped as well because of the success of the book. And yes they are quite right I guess. I personally was very very excited to see this movie just becasue everyone said the book was so great and all, so it did seems extra awesome to me, plus I have that tendency to like vampire movies, and I totally dig Kristen Stewart.

Pink Panther 2 – quite funny, pretty good comedy. At first I tot it’d be quite a lame comedy thing like those scary movie and meet the spartan sorta crap, but no it was pretty decent and a pretty entertaining movie overall.

Valkyrie – Now this was a movie that the reviews weren’t wrong about, totally cool movie by Tom Cruise about the attempted assasination of Adolf Hitler. I love how Tom Cruise and the defectors all had everything planned out, how they were gonna take over the government using Operation valkyrie, awesome awesome movie, just talking about it makes me wanna watch it again, haha.

Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans -Prequel to the first Underworld, Underworld lovers would probaably like this, I definitely did, vampires and werewolves, what’s not to like? I particularly liked how in this movie the werewolves are the good guys here instead of always jsut the mindless ruthless enemies like in the previous installments. Nice twist and very rich story, feels very Lord of the Rings-ish in some sense

I think I’ll leave the Games section and Series to another post, this one seems a little bit too long already, again I’ve underestimated myself, haha

Temptations…….

Holidays and exams less than a week away, finding it harder and harder to concentrate when i have so much to look forward to.

My recent list of games to play during the holidays have changed a little, new revised list are:

Fallout 3
Far Cry 2
Red Alert 3 (actually finished all campaigns dee, but then need to toughen up still)
Bioshock
Deadspace
Sacred 2 Fallen Angel

A whole lot of games to look forward to, but at the same time can’t help but hear this voice in my head telling me, “you seriously wanna spend ur hols playing games ar?” and then it struck me that that sentence was wrong, but also right, so now the new voice in my head is……..”You’re gonna spend ur hols playing games with your friends”, it sounds a lot more tempting but it seems harder to acheive, why do nice things never come easy?

Stil studying my way through this exams, still a lot of stuff to cover, not sure if I’ll have enough time to look through everything or not, here’s another prayer of “please don’t fail” .

My recent enthusiasm for hot female actresses as well as female actresses appearing in in-game cinematics have led me to download 3 seasons of 4 of The O.C. This is all for the sake of seeing more of Autumn Reeser , who by the way does not even show up until season 3, and yet I shall watch it from episode 1×01 for the sake of storyline. So soon you’ll be see-ing another addition to the list on the right. But dont worry, the O.C. has stopped permanently at season 4, so unlike the others, this one has an end.

I should say this isn’t the first time hot female actressess got me into watching a particular series, I have to say out of the list over there on the right, I can only say that Numb3rs and Prison Break are the only 2 shows that had no female actress influence on me. Which brings me to wonder if men will always be looking for more……

Anyways, hols coming close, putting a lot of effort into filling up by 640GB hard drive before heading home, so currently the daily activity is I study, and my PC copy, I think we make a good team eh? currently still trying to fill 210GB of space……… already have like 120GB of games( I totally din realise games could take so much), 120 GB of anime, and another 120 for TV series. In a sense I guess its a pretty good harvest still. Considering that I normally harvest 320GB every half a year, so this is quite ok i guess, lol.

Okay lah sign off here, wasn’t planning to write a long post also, in fact was contemplating over half an hour whether to add another post anot, but once start writing feels so comfortable duwan to stop, weird……….

First time overclocking

First time attempting to overclock in my life, quite happy with the results I’m getting althought its still a little below expectations. Going to try continue bringing down the voltage to hopefully reduce heat production

Would have liked to reach bus speed 333MHz but then apparently CPU not being co-operative beyond 323 unless I go and increase voltage like mad. Currently full load temperatures can go up to 73 degrees or more which is a little higher than what I like it to be.
