Of Games and Series…..

Alright now to continue with the post, here’s the part on Games:

Bioshock – Old game I know, but I finally had some time to check this game out, and I have to say gameplay pretty much sucked, storyline was cool witha ll the 60s feel to it and all, but the fact of you getting more powerful much faster than the enemies means that by the end of the game, you won’t even feel scared anymore cause any enemy that so much as touches you gets a big jolt of electricity and dies with a whack of ye ol trusty wrench.

Gears of War – relatively old game as well,  storyline is so so, but gameplay was awesome, for ocne there’s a game where taking REAL cover actually mattered. And the endless scenes of body parts flying about and blood splattering everywhere helps too.

Dead Space – this game brings a whole new level of scariness to survival horror game. have to say I’ve been pretty scared almost throughout the whole game, even when I had the biggest guns and had my volume set to the minimal audible level I stil get frightened everytime something pops up behind me.

Tom Clancy’s Endwars -  You guys have totally gotta try this one out. This is totally gonna revolutionise how games are played next time. I’ve jsut started playing this for like couple of days but I have to say its really really cool. Just imagine playing a game where all you have to do is holddown the spacebar and execute commands like “Unit 2 attack hostile 1″ , “Unit 5 secure alpha”  and “Airstrike Target”, gives you that very commanding officer feeling

Prince of Persia – pretty decent game, the obstacle courses aren’t as complicated as the previous ones are and dying isn’t as annying as it was anymore either, fight scenes look alot better altho feels more restrictive that the previous titles.

Mirror’s Edge -  another new way of playing a first person game, for once all you do is run around city rooftops to get from point A to point B. Occasionally you see some cops, as the non-violent character that you are, you could jsut pull a few kung fu moves and disarm the dude and be on your way. One of the first games to utilise Nvidia’s PhysX technology, looks great with PhysX on btw.

Left 4 Dead – All I can say for this is, Best co-op game ever!!!!

Pokemon Crystal/Sapphire – yeah I know its way way way old, but you know I used to love playing pokemon, and I neevr got around completing the gold/silver series, cause it got all too complicated back then when I was 13 or something and I jsut gave up, so now I’ve come back to live my dreams as a Pokemon trainer once more. Haha, unfortunately Pokemon game has upgraded so much that there’s like 500 pokemon nowadays and I only knew like 200 pokemon at most, so there’s a lot to learn. Have to figure out weakness and resistants for the new elements like metal and dark and all those new attack moves. Fortunately I’m playing it on PC, which means……Gameshark!! nothing beats unlimited masterballs and rare candys, yea!!! (OMG I’m a cheater too lol)

Now on to the series, actually I don’t have that much to report on this section really, cause when ur in Malaysia and internet is crap, you can never get much done that way. But I jsut felt like mentioning that……

Grey’s Anatomy had a merging episode with Private Practice. Cool? haha! essentially what that means is if you wanna get exactly what happened after episode 15 of grey’s you gotta watch episode 16 of  private practice and after that switch back to episode 16 of grey’s, awesome right?

Also jsut wanted to say I’m probabaly adding the Veronica Mars series to my list, jsut felt like seeing more of Kristen Bell, at least this series is only 3 seasons long and already discontinued, wonder how long it’ll be before I realise kristen bell isn’t worth all that trouble? haha

well since were on the topic of this sorta stuff I tot I might as well mention a little on what I’m looking forward to as well

Upcoming Games

Sims 3 – coming out in June, I’m hoping to see major improvements since sims 1 since I’ve not played or even seen sims 2. From what I’m hearing its gonna be pretty cool. But then sims 1 sounded cool too but ended up with a pretty routine gameplay (unless you’re a cheater, yeah u know who you are, lol)

Tom Clancy’s HAWX – I really really really hope this fighter plane game doesn’t suck cuz I haven’t found a decent fighter place game since the Ace Combat series

Red Alert 3 Uprising – Hopefully this expansion will somewhat make the original game a lot more interesting .I love the red alert franchise, but seriously, its dissapointing on so many levels.

Upcoming Movies

Street Fighter : Legend of Chun Li – Okay I’m jsut watching this cuz there’s Kristin Kreuk(totally a sucker for Kristin’s), but then who knows right? might turn out to be a pretty decent movie too

Terminator: Salvation – gotta love this upcoming episode lah, its basically telling about how all that time travelling in terminator 1/2/3 have impacted on the future, and just that time paradox thing is enough to make me go all in

X Men Origins : Wolverine – Its X men!! just can’t not watch it. and its on wolverine!! the producers were smart to choose Mageneto and Wolverine to be in the X Men Origins movies, great choices.

Okay I myself am starting to feel that this post is quite boring too so I’ll jsut end it here then, I think I’m just gonna add another pretty irrelevant post pretty soon, feel free to ignore that one
