My Own Little Conspiracy Theory

What classify a living thing? do they need to jsut fulfill a list of criterias and that’s all? In general, we’d say that living things are things that require air to breath, some sort of food to eat, and water to drink? and maybe the need to reproduce? seriously the meaning of a living thing is pretty vague isn’t it? air to breath, what’ll u say to the bacteria that hardly take air? water to drink, koalas only eat leaves? but yeah I suppose hardly taking air is still taking in some air, and eating leaves which contain water is still taking in water. How about need to reproduce? Ligers (Lion +Tiger) and Mules (Horse + Donkey, I think they’re called Mules, can’t remember) have no ability to reproduce. and yea you’re right, they were created through human intervention, but then can you look at a Liger, see it eat, drink and breath like any other animal and say its not a living thing? Perhaps there’s more that the criteria’s I;ve mentioend that make a living thing, probabaly, so please add to my list or take away some stuff from my list by posting a comment. But before you do, I wanna just add this little scenario in:

if we just use the 4 criteria’s that I’ve given, think of it another way, instead of considering if a Liger is a living thing or not, let’s try and imagine the other way round. with human technology advancing over time, we’re getting pretty good in making robots, so…..if 1 day we could make a robot that runs on air, water and some sort of food, and that robot is even capable of creating its own kind, would the robots then be enough to be considered living things? Please share I dun mind the comments as long as u don’t give me crap like “if God didn’t make them, its not a living thing”. I’m asking all of this because I wanna just bring up the discussion about how viruses are not considered as living things because they have no other objective other than to pass on their DNA/RNA, and yet they don’t seem to be “non living things” worthy either

Okay now I’m getting to the real conspiracy theory part. Technology is awesome, we’re mkaing things smaller and smaller these days. Back in the days computers were so big that they’d fill up a whole room jsut to do simple mathematics, and now that same computing power could probabaly be found everywhere, and its pretty space efficient too!!So far, Biologists are always trying to find ways to using biological means to cure biological problems. prevent diseases with vaccines, antibiotics and the like. the Physicists on the other hand are solving their problems with physics too, finding out about subatomic particles by building particle accelerometers and stuff like that. Only recently we’re seeing these 2 fields begin to work together. 1 interesting topic I found was how the mechanics of a printer were used to “print” out an artificial heart. Sounds pretty sci-fi? well its still under research so it’s gonna stay sci-fi for now. Here’s another interesting sci-fi technology that involves biology and physics, if you’ve played the Metal gear solid games you’d probabaly be a little familiar with this. Yea, i’m talking about nanobots. Essentially in the game each soldier is injected with a serum containing tiny nano-sized robots. these robots essentially feedback information about the soldier back to a central computer where commanding officers cand monitor a soldier’s performance. So let’s give an example, a group of soldiers just got ambushed by a large group of terrorists, they need to escape. the big guys at central command could then command the nanobots to stimulate every soldier’s adrenal glands to secrete sufficient amount of adrenaline, increasing the soldier’s heart rate as well as make them less sensitive to pain, allowing them to focus on running away. Also applicable in the opposite situation, first time soldiers going into the heat of war for the first time might feel extremely scared walking into the hot zone, in this situation the nanobots could also supress adrenaline release and calm the soldier, improving performance. In the game the nanobots are so efficient that they can prevent the individual from pulling a trigger, preventing friendly fire and the like.

Okay now u get more or less how sci-fi we are talking about, we’ll move further on. So, instead of using nanobots for stuff like war and improving human efficiency, what about using nanobots for medical reasons? Now note that even red blood cells are measure up to micrometers only, so nanobots are pretty small. So the idea is that one day we might be able to cure all disease using nanobots. Got a viral infection? nanobots are there to kill’em, Got bacterial infection? fungal infection? parasite infection? nanobots will kill em like ur white blood cells never have. speaking of which, they may very well be the solution to people with suppressed immune systems. Even DNA reencoding could be possible( DNA size is couple of nanometers), that means bye bye to hereditary diseases and genetic defects.

Pretty bright future for human health isn’t it?Now, obviously with such a powerful medical device, a lot of precaution and ethical laws would be in place by the time this technology is released, by then there’d probabaly be no need for medical research or doctors or hospitals anymore, meaning more manpower in the fields of physics and chemistry( some people will probably still wanna study animals or whatever but screw them). Now suppose that at some point in the future, the human population have just made a big break in time travel, they’ve managed to send tiny grains of sand(the finests grains of sand measure at about 0.05 mm) back in time. See where I’m going with this? no? Okay now let’s say a Scientist C happends to fill a tiny capsule the size almost as big as a grain of sand with nanobots reprogrammed with the following directives:

1. create more nanobots
2. eliminate any dangers
3. survive by all means necessary

and this capsule was sent back in time attached onto say, a fruit( I like watermelon). So a human in the past comes along, sees a big giant fruit (I like watermelon), and eats the fruit together with the nanobot caontained capsule. The tiny capsule goes in the stomach , to the intestines ad gets absorbed in the bloodstream. In the bloodstream the capsule would then be dissolved by a chemical found only in the blood, thereby releasing and activating the nanobots. The nanobots are detected by the human’s white blood cells, but directive 2 orders them to eliminate the white blood cell, the nanobots use the remains of the white blood cell to create more nanobots, fulfilling directive 1. as the nanobots multiply, the human body’s white blood cells attempts to adapt and fight back, but again with directive 3 the nanobots evolve ahead of the white blood cells and continues to survive.

Now u’ve heard the story, so this man, would continue to have his immune system destroyed, caushing him to be Immune Deficient. and since this immune deficiency was not from some immunosuppresive drugs, would be say that this man has an [A]cquired [I]mmune [D]eficiency [S]yndrome? and would that make the nanobot a Human Immunodeficiency Nanobot? of course this is all happening back in the past(time traveled back in time remember?) so people at that time would not know what a nano bot is, so let’s just say they gave the nanobots a fancier name, let’s say they decided to called it……I dunno……..maybe…….a virus? so probabaly people back then would call the Human Immunodeficiency Nanobot a [H]uman [I]mmunodeficiency [V]irus?

Posted this specially for you Hean, still rememeber how you used to tell me to write about my conspiracy theories……….lol

  1. Bad news for all the people who got screwed by HIV, but this only applies if you conjecture that space-time is absolute. Kind of sad, I prefer the multi-verse conjecture.

Anyway, good news is that AIDS can be cured when we have sufficient technological advancement in nanotech. So, yay.

Would type more, but Dvorak is still frigging hard and slow for me.
