3 weeks later
wow quite impressed that the number of readers didn’t drop to 0 throughout the 3 weeks that I have been back at malaysia, at least not until the last few days, so kinda thanks to the few readers that still try despite the known outcome.
currently writing from KLIA airport, waiting for flight back to sydney.seems like me this time got really bad luck with planes. at first finish exam go from sydney to KL that time flight was delayed 2 hours, okay fine, kinda expected of a low cost airline that doesn’t have any in flight entertainement(totally toot-ness). Moving on from KL to Pen that time, dunno what it is with malaysia airlines but they always manage to get me feeling weird from the moment I set foot inside the plane. But that’s not the point, the point was after reaching penang airport, it took me at least 20 minutes + to disembark the plane. Why? because crappy aerobridge operator cannot align the aerobridge properly. Now on my way back my KL to sydney flight delayed once again, but this time 4 hours!!! Again I know its becasue its a low cost flight and all that but man 4 hours is so crappy especially when before the delay my waiting time is already 4 hours by itself………totally zzzZZZness. to add to that? KLIA isn’t as cool as u think. Biggest and probably 1 of the top airports around lah, and yet the wifi works like crap. we’re talking no facebook, no MSN and not even HOTMAIL…….Man you dun want people wasting bandwidth with msn and facebook i can get it lah, but you summore close the hotmail u really asking for it lah. Luckily googletalk managed to escape and I managed to catch few words with Sien saja. Oh also did I mention, the whole journey from penenag to Sydney, I was given the last last last seat on the plane as in there’s 59 rows in total, I got 59, and if that’s not bad enough, I didn’t even get Aor B, I got F……now that is seriously LAST……..wtf……..
Okay lah since I’m behind by 3 weeks liao I can’t really recall much in clear detail and neither can i arrange a lot of the following things in chronological order, so sorry lah.
#1 Home PC burned out days before I returned, so had to undergo Major surgery, here are the following modifications:
- Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz –> Core 2 Duo 2,4 Ghz
- 215MB +215 MB +512 MB DDR2 667MHz RAM –> 2GB DDR2 667MHz RAM
- Motherboard changed to some cheap model lah, not gonna talk a lot on that(cuz can’t rememeber…..\eheh)
- Nvidia 7300 GT –> Nvidia 8600 GT
- Added 500GB SATA Hard Disk which makes 500+80GB SATA and 320 GB IDE
Its not exactly much but considering that all that only totaled to little over a thousand I feel its a really cool deal. Finally managed to Play CnC3 in High graphics detail and Call of Duty 4 more smoothly(unfortunately I couldn’t play higher difficulty cause the mouse memang got some masalah). Turns out too high graphics detail in CnC3 also not really THAT nice, the shadows turns all pixelated.
#2 Attended a “quite unexpected” class reunion. Despite plannings being started since months beforehand, it was still highly messed up and we ended up with quite a small number of people attending, I don’t wanna start counting cause its just THAT sad. hehe. Did get a nice Birthday surprise that same night also tho, so as a birthday thing it was kinda cool, but I still say the gathering was really shakes head, oh yea did I mention everyone had to pay 38 ringgit for the “wth lidat also 38 ringgit” Seoul Garden food? Nonetheless was also nice to see some old friends like “Next Tony Stark” OBT.
#3 Met with also some old INTI HSC time frens, didn’t manage to meet that many cuz apparently they almost wan start class liao. Had the classical pan mee near INTI and had a short visit at INTI. INTI now move house liao.the New building definitely looks better being all compacted into 1 building, deifnitely makes studying more efficient I guess. Well that’s what you can say when u see it from the outside I guess. based on sources from students still there, parking’s a big mess, elavator’s crap and classes are like prison……hmm……..Went with the INTI gang to hang out in Queensbay for a while also loo. most notable, Miss Hui TIng all dressed up for a change, haha, “talk of the day”
#4 Watched the Get Smart Movie, gotta say i quite liked the movie, but also have to say that its really no different from most of the comedies of its kind, and punchlines are a little predictable, nonetheless still funny when it happens.not gonna give too much spoilers on this so I’ll keep it short. Which is more than what I can say for………
#5 I watch the Dark Knight!!! Holy crap I am currently ranking superhero-based movies as:
The Incredible Hulk < Superman Returns < Iron Man < Dark Knight
Damn did they do a good job at this. Yeah its true that people do wanna give face to Heath Ledger’s final movie lah, but I really feel that my love for the movie had hardly anything to do with guy. Despite that, I have to say Heath Ledger did a good job in portraying the Joker. He really looked insane with the yucky makeup, dirty hair, scars and the constant licking around the mouth. really looks insane. Christian Bale did his usual heroic thing again. didn’t like his parts as Bruce Wayne as much, since scene with him very little, but Batman was really cool. Before this when i watched the trailer, seeing batman in that motorbike jsut looked so lame, then I saw in the movie where the motorbike came from, and I’m like totally back into it, it definitely what I would expect from Batman. Definitely gonna have Kyloon download this movie. Oh for those of you that haven’t watched the movie, please do, and tell me how many times u were frightened. the really cool thing about this movie s that although its rated “Umum”, it still managed to make the movie really scary jsut by showing scene that WILL lead to gory scenes without ACTUALLY showing the gory scenes. impressed totally.
#6 I think I’ve really made good movie choices this time back. Watch another Handcock, oops, its Hancock. Tells of the story of a John Hancock, who has suuperpowers. Now now, I’m not spoiling, this is in the trailer already okay. I think part of why i was really impressed by this movie is that…..I didn’t watch the trailer,so I was like totally dumbfounded when I saw Will Smith jump into the sky and lift cars like its nothing. When I saw that, I thought to myself that I’ll probbaly hate this ridiculous movie. But as I watched on about the change in the protagonist’s character and personality, I actually found that movie to be quite meaningful. So, a movie that can let me down and bring me back up definitely deserves a thumbs up. Oh yeah I also wanna add 1 note, when you watch this, really try to pay attention in the beginning of the movie, cause from there you’ll realise that in Malaysia, the word “asshole” is far more vulgar and unsuitable for public ears compared to “fuck”
#7 Hosted several CS sessions at my house. Jieyang recently learnt to play Counterstrike COndition Zero back in UK. And because of that we’ve all decided to gauge the skills he developed over the 3 weeks that he learnt it. Regulars at the CS sessions were Jieyang, Myself (host mah), Chang Jian (yea he plays too), Beng Hoong and King Sen. Had a special guest during out last session, Soon Khen a.k.a. SpyX. and he’s definitely a Special guest, to be able to do over 100+ kills when we’ve jsut passed 50, haha. But also about gauging jieyang, the guy’s learnt a lot in 3 weeks, so much that he’s already beyond me, tho I’ve been playing all the while for so long……sheesh.
#8 ahahah big big reason to come back this time was to go check out Miss Oh Shi Lin’s SLK. Wasn’t the 171 version but then the fact that is SLK and convertable is enough to make me high dee.Got a chance to bring it go 1 round around the nearby neighbourhood with the roof exposed, wakakakaka, how we all wish for a SLK at the age of 20. Speaking of cars, this time come back, parents willing to trust me with BMW more liao, this whole 3 week came back me drove Myvi only once and all other occasions drove BMW, wakakkaak syiok syiok.
I’m starting to wish I was 1 of school’d thousand word essays.
#9 3 weeks at some point seemed short and also seemd kinda long. at ome point when it still felt like there was plenty of time, I made plans to attempt baking the Ja-Pan #2 featured on Yakitate Japan!! anime. ja-Pan #2 is a Bread featured in the said anime that is baked using a rice cooker instead of conventional ovens. The instructions shown on the anime seemed simple enough, but apparently I was still dumb enough to misunderstand 1 step and ended up adding too much water……talk about swts. I dun wanna get into too much details about the making process, but really enjoyed kneading the dough for first time, sounds like a really weird thing but I guess when you’ve got so crazy about that anime, kneading dough jsut feels beyond cool. Bread turned out was okok saja lah, and it got kinda hard as it cooled off, so I’ll consider that as a failed attempt bah. But I deifnitely encourage others to try, I’m sure if you didn’t make that mistake like I did, you’ll be able to suceed. I’ll definitely give it another try when I have a chance to. Special thanks again to Miss Oh Shi Lin’s mum again for specially buying 1 new 230 ringgit rice cooker for me to try make this “failed product”, will try harder next time, haha.
#10 Believe it or not this is the first time I checked my results back home in Penang and not find that it was below 50. damn was so relieved about that fact. I think that also made abig difference in how well my 3 week holidays turned out. definitely wouldn’t have been this fun if I had failed once again. Now all I ahve to do is repeat this a few more times and I should be fine? easier said than done?
#11 I managed to get hold of the Fate/Stay Night visual novel!!! you tengok on the right there u can tell why its such a significant thing. For those of you who are barely interested, you all would only know the story from the anime. In fact, the story can take on 3 different routes. each with different turns of events depending on what the protagonist Shirou Emiya decides. The first route, which is the route with the happiest ending, the “Fate” route. In this route Shirou ends up in love with the Servant Saber. In the “Unlimited Blade Works” route, the ending is much cooler but not as happy(partly due to death of Illya), and Shirou ends up in Love with Rin Tohsaka. The third route of the story is “Heaven’s Feel” , unfortunately the people at mirror moon have not been able to completely transalate this route and I haven’t been able to see how this route unfolds, but my guess is that Shirou will become in love with another female character in the story, most likely Sakura. Probbaly should also give a discalimer to people who are interested to read this visual novel, there is quite a bit of explicit content somewhere along the story.
So that pretty much sums up what I’ve been up to during the hols. Its not exactly a lot when I look back at it, but I think I’m quite satisfied. Tho I think i could have been more satisfied if…….
- I could meet some people mroe often. Didnd’t meet Beng Hoong Enough times, becasue the guy pergi IMU soon after I came back. Didnt’ meet Sien that much due to certain unforeseen circumstances. Didn’t meet Wifey!! because she went visiting Sarawak…….Didn’t meet Rong Rong also………Also wanted to meet the old bunch of prefects more than once, but some people got school and exams, and most still away from penang, so tak jadi lah.
- I missed out on a few Penang food. Didn’t have Nasi Kandar despite the many times that I have been to the mamak stall. everytime I visit Mamak, its always slightly after dinner (stupid Jieyang get hungry so fast), so I normally dun have enough appetite to eat a whole nasi kandar. Bak Kut Teh I was already thinking about having it when i was waiting for stupid aerobridge operator to align the aerobridge, and yet, ended up didn’t eat……Zzzz, no idea why also.
- Wanted to try out the new Health Spa Happy Feet, where you immerse your feet in a pond of tiny fish, and the fish will come and eat the dead skin off your feet. Not that I think my feet need cleaning or what lah, but really wanted to see what it was like.
Wah writing this actually occupied most of my 2 hours liao, haha, quie impressive, somehow makes me glad I didn’t blog day by day over the 3 weeks, haaha. Haiyo now wanna go back to Sydney liao seriously F-ed up loo…….Hope I still ada motivation to move on la………. On problem about coming home for holidays, Fun increases for sure when you’re back, but aso increases the difficulty when its time to go back to study life. Damn it. I think i tulis cukup pangjang liao this one. you want pictures I tiada. You tunggu facebook when my frens post up and tag me lah, then u tengok from there saja lah.
